What is Impressionistic painting? |
Impressionism is about movement in Art. Originated in France in 19th Century, it provoked critics at that time. However it gathered momentum later and became popular. The main feature of this kind of painting is that it consists of tiny dots or relatively small, thin yet visible brush strokes. Mostly, it portrays open composition, exact depiction of light, common, ordinary subjects, unusual visual angles and inclusion of movement being the element of human perception and experience. They portray overall visual effects instead of details. New techniques, specific to style were explored. It’s all together different way of seeing the subject and expression in art.
