Answer to all above question is always same. Appreciation of space and inherent beauty present in all of us. Painting is just another form of space and beauty, where artist is a channel or medium of expression. Artist derives inspiration from nature and its elements like sky, clouds, sun, sunrise, dawn, sunlight, sunny, sunset, morning, afternoon, evening, beaches, mountain, water bodies such as – sea, seashores, coastlines, ocean, lake, river, waterfall and stream and scenes full of mist, fog, snow. Artist also looks for his subjects in wild of wildlife, trees, leaves, foliage, flowers, floral, birds, woods, jungle, forest, garden, park, plant, grass, green fields. Seasons also have a role in art expressions all over the world. Summer season depicting paintings imply use of yellow, red, purple, brown, white, off-white, cream, crimson, pink, grey, black colors while rainy season will be presented through lot of lush green, blue colors for portrayal. Autumn / spring have many vibrant and sparkling colors like white, yellow, red, lemon yellow, luminance etc. Winter or fall season is best expressed through whites and shades of blues and greens to depict snow. These natural elements inspire artists.

What people like about art?

People too look for beauty in art. They search for serenity, peace, calm, tranquil, quiet moods. They also search for beauty in scenic outdoors, peaceful and beautiful surroundings. They like something that resonates with something inside them. When, whatever artist has tried to portray connects them, they like that art. Art also inspires and motivates them. It can create and uplift a mood. When art compliments their existing surroundings, they like it very much. Some people commission artist to paint their own subject or topic like their own portrait. Sometimes buying painting from reputed artist add to their status. Art is status symbol for them.

People like to buy paintings to express their love or feelings towards someone they like. They buy for occasions like marriage, Christmas, vacations, holidays, travels. They also buy to express greetings or to gift someone. They buy to decorate blank walls of their homes / houses / bunglows.

What is painting?

Painting is artist’s expression of space, aesthetics and beauty portraying mood, emotion, interpretation, the scene.
